In 1982, he changed firms to head up the Process Serving and Family Law (divorce and custody) surveillance team for his new employer. During that tenure, the firm’s client base grew, changing those areas headed by Mr. Lawrence to thriving divisions. This experience helped establish a strong foundation for providing reliable process serving services and professional legal support solutions.

In 1984, a corporate group offered to purchase the firm but under the stipulation that “Riun” be included in the deal as a managing partner. The sale was completed and further growth ensued with the addition of Labor Dispute Management, and Insurance surveillance and Investigation areas.

In 1986, “Riun” sold his share in the company and set up his own firm. This was the initial birth of Golden West as a British Columbia corporate structure that would soon grow to also include alarm installation, security guard / patrol and equipment sales in addition to already solid divisions of Investigations, Surveillance, Process Serving and Labor Dispute Management.

After 10 years of growth, it was decided that many of the divisions would be sold off. Many of those divisions went to employees and close associates bringing about a downsizing of the firm. This provided a new focus for the company: Investigations – Surveillance – Process Serving and Labor Dispute Management.

In January, 1997, Golden West Investigative Group Ltd was born following the original business plan but on a more personal and focused basis.

In 1998, investigative, surveillance and personal security products sales were added back into the fold which is now looked after by our sister company, GlobalPiSupply.

Since that time, the Golden West Investigative Group Ltd has established other separate entities and companies. These are not investigation based firms but do add viable support for many of our needs. They include CG Hosting for hosting our web sites and GPS TRACKING CENTRE for our GPS TRACKING- hardware and tracking plan division. Both of these companies also cater to public sales and service.

As of January 31, 2023, GOLDEN WEST INVESTIGATIVE GROUP LTD. owner, D.M.(Riun) Lawrence, will be hanging up the company license for Investigations. Over 40+ years in the business is a long haul and it is now time to slow down and enjoy life a bit more.

As a corporate entity, GOLDEN WEST INVESTIGATIVE GROUP LTD. will still maintain the PROCESS SERVING division and maintain its status as the Corporate entity as GOLDEN WEST DOCUMENT SERVICES LTD. Today, the company continues to operate as a professional process serving company, providing dependable legal document solutions and support for law firms, corporations, and legal professionals.
